Church Resources

Help us Transform our Community for Christ
Building partnerships and working together with the local church to bring help to children, healing to families and hope to our own community.

If your mission is to serve our city locally in any capacity, we want to work with you to love people and shine the light of Jesus. Below are some resources within GAP Ministries that might be beneficial to your church. Click on each link for more information.

Adoption / Foster Care

GAP Ministries trains and licenses individuals and couples to provide loving families for children who have been temporarily removed from their homes, GAP Ministries recruits, licenses, and certifies individuals and families who wish to provide an excellent temporary foster or permanent adoptive home for abused and/or neglected children. click for more info

Career Training Opportunities

Career Plus is a Career and Life Development program that helps unemployed and underemployed individuals increase their value in the job market. The key to the student’s overall success, and what makes this program unique to other workforce development programs, is this life development “soft skills” training and wrap around case management support.

Community Warehouse

The Community Warehouse receives donated produce, milk products, meat and other perishables weekly and distributes them to nonprofit groups serving those in need, as well as individuals. Anyone who has a need may “shop” for free food Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday between 9-11:30am and 12:30-2pm. Items available change weekly depending on donations and individuals may come every day the Warehouse is open.

Job Opportunities

Join our team! GAP is always on the lookout for individuals and couples with a heart for serving children with the love of Jesus to join our house parent or support staff. We often need Visit Supervisors to oversee visits between parents and their children who are in foster care as they work toward reunification their families. All current job opportunities are listed at the link.

Resource Booth at Your Church

A representative from GAP would be happy to come and set up a booth at a service of your choice. GAP will have information on all the programs offered and ways to engage and connect. We can provide information about Foster Care licensing, food available at the Community Warehouse, GAP Kitchen partnerships, and Career Training opportunities. We can also have volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups at your church. This will be informational and interactive. Let us know if you would like us to provide slides about GAP or speak in front of your congregation.

Become a Prayer Partner

Philippians 4:6 instructs us to “pray about everything, tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.”

If you are interested in becoming a prayer partner with us, we have specific prayer requests each month that you can find here.

Volunteer With Us

Groups or Individuals welcome!

We’d love to find an area that fits your heart for serving in our community. Help out in the Warehouse sorting, pricing, and putting out items for our shoppers. Or assist in the Kitchen preparing food for daycares and mobile meals. We often have group projects landscaping, or helping with projects in our group homes. Find out more or fill out volunteer applications HERE.

Collection Drive

Host a collection drive to bless the children and families served by GAP Ministries. Some ideas include, but are not limited to:

  1. Back to School Drive
  2. Christmas Toy Drive
  3. Easter Basket Drive
  4. Canned Food Drive
