For seniors at the Ellie Towne Flowing Wells Community Center, a meal can mean much more than what is on the plate. It can also provide connection, conversation, and a sense of community.
Last year, funding cuts threatened access to nutritious meals and meaningful social connections for local seniors. Thanks to the Flowing Wells Neighborhood Association and Community Coalition, GAP Ministries, and generous donors, the Plate Full of Care senior meals program continued throughout 2026.
Now, there is even more great news to celebrate. ❤️
A Generous Gift Keeps the Meals Coming
Thanks to a generous donation from UnitedHealthcare, Plate Full of Care will continue providing free meals to seniors three times a week.
This support helps ensure seniors can enjoy nutritious food while staying connected to others in their community.
At 89 years old, Ellie Towne continues to be an active community leader. She beautifully captured what this news meant to her:
“It was a blessed day to be blessed with such great news.”
GAP Kitchen Helps Serve the Community
The meals provided through Plate Full of Care are prepared by GAP Kitchen, GAP Ministries’ culinary program.
Through the partnership of community organizations, donors, and GAP Ministries, this program brings together food and fellowship for seniors who benefit from both.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who helps make Plate Full of Care possible. Your generosity helps provide more than a meal. It helps create opportunities for seniors to experience connection, care, and community.
